Six sides aim for Irish Junior Cup glory this weekend

There are two Premier Division games down for decision with Claudy Rovers hosting Lincoln Courts and Ardmore travelling to Lisahally. BBOB v Basement The Old Boys can’t get a league point but are still involved in all three cup competitions which is a mystery to everyone. They when they do turn up are a more than useful side and are in a false league position. The visitors are a bit of an unknown quantity but they haven’t a good record in this competition. The Old Boys to progress. Prediction: BBOB. Donemana v Killen Rangers The men from Tyrone had a good home win in the previous round. However their league form since has been patchy and manager Ivor Dunn will relish his side being the underdogs and they are sure to have decent home support. Their opponents play their football in the very competitive Premier Division of the Fermanagh and Western League and they had a very good win last week over Enniskillen Rangers. They may prove to strong for the home side. Prediction: Killen Rangers. Kilrea United v Foyle Wanderers The home side are reportedly a big strong side with a number of GAA players in their line-up. They play in a decent standard of league and with home advantage they will fancy their chances. Wanderers’ only defeat this season was away to another side from outside their area so they will have to be wary. They hit six last week and they have quality throughout this will be tough and may need extra time. Prediction: Foyle Wanderers. Knockmenagh Swifts v Eglinton Swifts play in Division Two of the mid Ulster league where there are some decent sides. They had no game last week so they will be raring to go, they also have a good home record. Eglinton will travel with confidence although in third place in the first Division they have lost three of their eight games so their form is patchy. The home side may prevail. Prediction: Knockmenagh Swifts. Limavady United Drummond v St Mary’s Newtownabbey The Roesiders showed what a good side they are in last week’s easy win over Claudy Rovers. That was an overdue result and shows what can be achieved, the question is can they do it consistently, this would be the ideal time to prove they can. Not a lot is known about the men from Newtownabbey but they can’t be underestimated. The home side have to be the selection. Prediction: Limavady United Drummond. Strule United v Burnfoot The Castlederg side play in the Fermanagh and Western league and have a decent record in this competition and they will be a tough nut to crack especially at home. Burnfoot are in second position in the First Division they have yet to lose a league game but they are a bit of draw specialists having shared the spoils on four occassions they may lose this one. Prediction: Strule United.
